The Minervois is a well-known appellation in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France. The Aime is 45% Syrah, 40% Carignane and 15% Grenache, which is typical for the region. On the nose, aromas of violets and black fruits are joined by a hint of cedar. This is a dry, medium-bodied, juicy wine that will have you longing for a vacation in France's Mediterranean countryside.

Nestled between the Montagne Noir to the north and the Pyrenees to the south, Domaine Aimé is home to some of Minervois's best producing vines. In the family for many generations, the vineyards are set in ancient landscapes and consistently yield some of the finest grapes of the Minervois plateau. Owner Rémi Bonnet took over from his father in 1995, but the domaine remains family oriented with extended family still helping out when needed.
Minervois wines have the qualities of reliable old friends and deserve reliably delicious food like my Pork and Orange Stew--braising the pork with spices and orange delivers in a big way. Serve alongside a green salad and a good crusty loaf of bread.
The town of Minerve (capital of Minervois) has been selected as one of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France (The Most Beautiful Villages Of France).
