A beautiful combination of fruit, elegance and rich textures makes this a delightful Sauvignon Blanc with aromas of melon, lime and banana leaves. This wine shows bright clean notes of white grapefruit, herbs, orange peel and honeydew melon which comes together into a medium-bodied wine with a pleasing crisp finish.

Vinoce is a small, family-owned vineyard managed by Brian and Lori Nuss. Over the last 28 years they have developed an intimate knowledge of growing Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot on the rugged hillside slopes of Mt. Veeder. Brian and Lori are dedicated to creating wines that reflect the true expressions of the Mt. Veeder Appellation. The estate is made up of 2 distinct sections that stretch from 1,600 vertical feet to over 2,100 vertical feet. The upper block is a collection of 3 parcels planted to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot making up 8 acres. The lower 16 acres are planted to Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The dramatic topography and south-facing exposures offer the grapes a perfect growing environment as well as one of the finest mountain skylines in the Napa Valley.
It is nearing the beginning of asparagus season, and I cannot wait. What could be more appropriate than drinking this terrific wine with a classically inspired Italian fish preparation such as my Slow-Roasted Halibut with Asparagus and Salsa Genovese? Asparagus is normally a tough pairing, but this SB will pull it off admirably.
Vinoce takes its name from a playful nod to Brian's German-Italian heritage: Nuss means "nut" in German; translated into Italian, it's "noce." Noce combined with vino makes Vinoce, or "wine nut."
