Sean Minor grew up in the Midwest surrounded by agriculture. The concept of coaxing things out of the earth and bringing them to the dinner table had always held a fascination for him, and in his opinion, wine takes that concept to its zenith. After stints running two different wineries in Oregon where he learned the importance of site-specific viticulture, Sean move to California in 2001to manage Renwood Winery. Four years later he formed Sean Minor Wines enlisting his great friend Will Bucklin as wine Consultant. The two had worked side by side at King Estate Winery, Oregon's largest and most renowned national producer of Pinot Noir. They now collaborate on the selection and blending of all wines.

The Sean Minor needs a good grilled steak to match with the balanced fruit, spice flavors and elegant tannins in the wine. Rubbing gray salt into the steaks before grilling makes all the difference. The gray salt I use, from Brittany's coast, retains all the minerals found in the sea, echoing your body's mineral content exactly. Because of its taste, I use gray salt exclusively, and cherish the natural flavors it highlights in all foods.

Will Bucklin loves working with his friend Sean but he makes his own creations from one of Sonoma's oldest Zinfandel vineyards on his family's historic ranch, Old Hill Farm, which dates to 1851.
