Samuels's Cuvve is an unusual blend of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon coming from two separate vineyards in Napa Valley. This cuvee provides the strength of Cabernet Sauvignon and the smooth rich texture of Syrah. This wine offers bright red cherry and blackfruit aromas with notions of menthol, tea leaves and milk chocolate. This is a rich, well balanced, full-bodied wine with flavors of blueberry and black raspberry in the mouth. Keep sipping and you will pick up complexities of licorice, cassis and chocolate. Drinking beautifully now.

John and Michele Schulz have a combined 35 years of experience in the wine industry, mostly in sales and distribution. Managing sales for a number of premium wineries was great fun, but their life long goal was to actually make their own wines from very specific vineyard sites with unique terroir and micro-climates. Through the years they developed good relationships with a number of superb growers and in 2005 Schulz Cellars was born.
The Schulz needs a good piece of red meat to complement its flavor profile. I am torn between my Spiral Rolled Filet of Beef with Pesto and my Grilled Pesto Marinated Skirt Steak with Blue Cheese Fondue. Let's stay in the holiday spirit and go with the filet of beef. Serve with a side of my Definitive Mashed Potatoes and my Spinaci Alla Padella, and your diners will be begging for the recipe.
