Focused black cherry and black currant aromas are joined by notes of sandal wood and camphor. It's lively with red fruit flavors and dusty tannins, finishing with a strong redcurrant quality with hints of chocolate and lavender.

The Barossa is Australia's most famous wine region, comprising the Barossa Valley and Eden Valley. The region is a gourmet's paradise, enriched by a strong cultural heritage reflected in its wine, food, buildings and people. Earthworks is the second brand of the acclaimed family-owned Langmeil Winery, whose oldest vineyard dates back to 1843 and is believed to be one of the oldest Shiraz surviving vineyards in the world. They own a number of predominately dry-grown vineyards and draw on other fruit stock from the Barossa and Eden Valleys for the Earthworks brand. Langmeil is known for its dedication to the preservation of the Barossa's heritage, environment and history and this is reflected in the restoration and maintenance of its properties. Their mission is to produce world-class Barossa wine while having fun doing it.
Australian Cabernet Sauvignon often walks a fine line between fruity and tannic, and the Earthworks offers a jammy contrast to my suggestion for Grilled Flank Steak with Salsa Cruda. It is also well suited for rare grilled steak and slow-cooked meats like short ribs.
With consistently outstanding vintages over the past 150 years, six generations of grape growers and winemakers have established the Barossa as Australia's leader in crafting wines of great distinction.
