This easy drinking Chardonnay makes for a very delicious poolside sipper. With an engaging brilliant color, it has notes of pineapple, peach and a creamy vanilla spice on the nose. Juicy ripened peach, melon and Asian pear flavors predominate with a suggestion of flint and minerality on the finish.

Founded in 2003, (originally as Mariposa Wine Company) Cru Wine Company is a portfolio of handcrafted artisan style wines that embrace the incredible diversity of California’s premium viticultural areas ranging from Santa Barbara to Napa Valley. Though founder Ken Post grew up on his family’s 1,800-acre alfalfa farm, it wasn’t until he sold his construction company at the age of 40, and later got bored of retirement, that he decided to enroll in Fresno State’s Oenology Viticulture program. The rest, as they say, is history.
Chardonnay is a subtly flavored grape that is easily overwhelmed by pungent ingredients. When considering food pairings, stick to mildly flavored fish, shellfish or poultry, or try luxuriously sauced pasta or rice. The wine's creamy texture will match well with similarly rich, mild foods, such as avocados or cream and butter sauces. Other outstanding options include lemon or butternut squash risotto, savory bread pudding or fresh egg pasta with a creamy sauce embellished with wild mushrooms or chives.
Ken’s other passion of off-road motorcycle riding forced another retirement for 10 months while he learned how to walk again after severely breaking a leg. It did, however give him time to drink some exceptional wines.
