Bodegas Biurko Borri is located in Bargota, a small town on the slopes of Mt. Yoar in the foothills of the Sierra Cantabria, which provides Rioja with a natural border to the north. For generations, the Llorens family has farmed their rocky, high altitude vineyards with a traditional and natural approach to farming and winemaking. The current bodega was built in the early nineties when the family decided to make a major investment to adapt their older wine-making and ageing systems. This has allowed them to craft a high quality wine which faithfully retains the purity of the grape. The Arbanta is made from a prized vineyard that is organic certified.

For a traditional Spanish wine, why not serve traditional Spanish food? My Spanish Style Paella is a perfect dish particularly at this time of the year. Make in a large paella pan and place on your table and let everybody dig in for themselves. The best made Paella's usually have a crispy, caramelized, toasted bottom (called socarrat in Valencia but pegado in Latin America) that is considered a delicacy!

Throughout Spain, the way to request a glass of red wine is to shout "un Rioja" at the barman.
