The Aramis single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon shows elegance and complexity. It's made in a gentle, appealing style with good varietal fruit definition. The nose enjoys black currant aromas with hints of tarragon, sassafras and blood orange. On the palate, flavors of over ripe plum and blackberry are joined by notions of toffee, menthol and dried herbs.

Aramis Vineyards wine is synonymous with premium wines from South Australia's McLaren Vale wine region. The vineyards in McLaren Vale are planted on their own rootstock in some of the world's oldest mineral-rich soils. Aramis Vineyards consistently produces excellent fruit quality from low-yielding vines. Lee Flourentzou, the General Manager of Aramis Vineyards, has pursued his passion to produce rich and intensely flavored red wines. He purchased a 70-acre plot of land, 7 km outside of the township of McLaren Vale back in 1998. He now has 64 acres planted, the majority of which are dedicated Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon vines.
The Aramis Cabernet is a natural match for rare grilled steak but also pairs well with slow-cooked meats like short ribs. With spring around the corner, try it with my Tangine of Lamb Stracotto with Spring Onions. For a cheese course, serve this Cab with mild creamy cheeses like Brie and Monterey Jack, but steer clear of strong blues.
Aramis is the fictional character in Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas. He was amorous, adventurous and held firmly to the sacred concept of friendship.
